BENONE STRAND

Also known as Magilligan Strand, this blue flag beach makes up 7m of the 11km stretch from Castlerock to Magilligan Point. The sand dunes backing the beach are one of the UK’s largest systems. Views are stunning and include Lough Foyle, Magilligan Point, Donegall, Downhill, Mussenden Temple and Benevenagh mountain in the background, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is a remote rural beach, yet during high season it sees many visitors from the adjoining caravan park. Car parking is limited, though in season parking is allowed on the beach.
